Many of us just celebrated America's independence by scarfing hot dogs, watching fireworks light up the sky and waxing poetic about how wonderful the country is. Sure, there are plenty of wonderful things about America, but the makers of this video Op-Ed think "the myth of America as the greatest nation on earth is at best outdated and at worst, wildly inaccurate. Comparing the United States of America on global indicators reveals we have fallen well behind Europe — and share more in common with 'developing countries' than we'd like to admit." — Alexandra March
