Sunday Best: Obama explains how we got to MAGA

Ezra Klein sat down with the former president.

The world has changed a lot over the past four years, and so has the political landscape in the United States. People have their own theories about how Americans went from voting in Barack Obama — twice — to the presidency of Donald Trump.

But what does Obama himself think?

This week, our Opinion columnist Ezra Klein sat down with the former president to find out. During their conversation, Obama shared his thoughts on things like aliens and President Biden "finishing the job" he started and more. You can listen to it in full here. If you want to reflect further, you can read more from Ezra here about their discussion on how "much in our politics is not what it seems" and Obama's admission that there is "a psychic cost to not always just telling the truth."
